Chain Tag

You will need - No equipment

• Students move around the playing area using a hopping action - two feet to two feet.
• Choose one student to be the tagger.
• The remaining students move freely around the PE space.
• The tagger hops around the PE space trying to tag students.
• If tagged, that student must join the chain.
• If escaping and not using a hopping action, the student joins the tagger.
• If tagged when the chain is broken, the tag does not count and the student is free to go.
• Remember that communication is very important when in the chain for moving, trapping and tagging others.

Variations & Adaptability

• Increase/decrease the playing space
• Change the way students may move around the space e.g. hop on one leg
• Increase the number of chains e.g. have two chains on at the same time
