Lesson 4 - Parachute
Sun & Ice
You will need: 1 or 2 blue and yellow beanbags
The sun and the snowballs have to run and chase all the other children. If you are tagged with a blue beanbag you have to freeze (ice). You can only be released by being tagged with a yellow beanbag (the sun).

Mushroom
You will need: a parachute
We are going to try and make a mushroom with our parachute. It is very important that we work as a team and listen carefully and follow the teachers instructions. Leave the parachute on the ground, get into our froggy legs position with no parachute in our hands (two feet on the ground, two hands sticking out as if we are holding our parachute, head up). We are going to work as a team and pretend to lift the parachute up into the sky making the shape of a mushroom. Let's chant ‘1, 2, 3 mushroom!’ pretend lift the parachute above your head. Keep hold of the handle until the teacher says down and drop it back to it's starting position.
This time lets repeat it but holding the parachute
Extra Challenge: When the mushroom is in the air take 2 steps when the teacher says STEP 1, 2 and watch your mushroom fly higher.
Change it Up
You will need: a parachute
Before lifting the parachute I am going to choose 2 students to 'change it up'. When the parachute is lifted they run under the parachute and get to the other persons handle before the parachute traps them. The job of the rest of the class is to lift the parachute, create a mushroom (count 1,2) and to bring the parachute back down to ground level trying to catch the two runners under the parachute.
Train Station
You will need: whistle
I would like you to pair up with a friend. One person is the train driver and one will be the trains carriage behind the driver. The train carriage has to follow the driver around the room. The driver should walk quickly in any direction around the area. When I blow my whistle switch roles quickly.
Okay, gradually slow the speed to a standstill.
Continue to stand one behind the other. Shadow each others’ stretching movements. Remember to breathe in and out.
